What is 'Kau Kau'?

'Kau kau' is Hawaiian pidgin for food or to eat. On this tour, you'll eat your way through Kailua — sampling local plate lunches, poke bowls, tropical fruit, shave ice, and more. It's part food tour, part scenic e-bike ride, and 100% delicious.

How far do we ride?

The tour covers approximately 10–12 miles at a relaxed pace with frequent stops. The e-bike makes hills effortless — you can pedal as much or as little as you like. Most guests are surprised by how easy it is!

Do I need biking experience?

Yes, basic bike riding ability is required. If it's been a while, no worries — we offer a quick refresher before departure and the e-bike assist makes starting and stopping much easier than a regular bike.

What kind of food will we try?

The tour includes 3–4 stops featuring a mix of: authentic Hawaiian plate lunch, fresh poke, tropical fruit and smoothies, local-style shave ice, and other Kailua specialties. Dietary restrictions? Let us know when you book and we'll accommodate!

What's the minimum age?

Riders must be at least 14 years old and 5'0" tall to safely operate the e-bikes. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a food-focused tour, so all ages 14+ are welcome who can comfortably ride a bike.

Do I need kayaking experience?

No prior experience needed! Our guides provide a full safety briefing and paddling instruction before launch. The route is suitable for beginners in moderate physical condition.
